Cocktail Night at Dosalas Kitchen and Bar. Wineswinging Update

Cocktail Night at Dosalas Kitchen and Bar

Another cocktail night at Dosalas Kitchen and Bar! Yes, we cheated on the wine again. Summer is perfect for Vancouver Waterfront visits; this time, our friends and we voted for Dosalas.

We have already reviewed this Latin restaurant in the past. It was tempting to see how is their business going in the post-pandemic summer.

We tasted several cocktails, including three Margaritas created for us at the table following special requests.

The Cocktails

To our surprise, four out of six ordered cocktails were missing the featured alcohol note. The two classics – smoky Old Fashioned and Manhattan (which was not on the menu, but they still made it well) – didn’t disappoint.

The other four cocktails had charming decorations, including real flowers. However, they tasted like sweet juices and sodas, and if tasted blind, we would not pick up the alcohol notes, thinking it was non-alcoholic drinks. Dosalas Paloma, in particular, tasted like a teenagers’ date drink: charming, but not assertive.

Special Margaritas

The good news was spacial Margaritas crafted by the table following your suggestions and offering surprise flavors – what a great weekend treat! We couldn’t resist trying!

And again, they were a little sweeter for our taste than we requested. The cocktail lady quickly fixed it by adding more lime juice to the cocktails, and we agreed that it was undoubtedly a great idea to add cocktail-making entertainment to the restaurant features!

Appetizers

We didn’t notice any changes in appetizer preparation.

We ordered everything we tasted before. Every appetizer appeared to be as tasty as we remembered it from our last visit.

One minor possible flavor addition made us excited! We tasted orange liqueur or the orange-flavored spirit in the Short Ribs Sopes appetizer. Nice touch!

Aftertaste Notes

Our friends insisted that the Ancho Grilled Salmon signature plate was excellent!

The live DJ in the restaurant made the weekend visit really festive, but also a little loud for talking over the table. On the other hand, we imagined pairing tequila tasting with the music we heard, and loved the idea!

Next time we will probably stick to tequila! It pairs excellently with most of Dosalas appetizers!
