Our friends and club members often ask us about the local wineries to visit. Luckily, downtown Vancouver in Washington turned part of the former Columbia River port into a fantastic waterfront that attracted Oregon and Washington wineries. Now, we have a dozen wineries in town, and that’s where we took our friends.
Some of our long-time favorites are Amavi and Pepperbridge wineries. They are owned by the same three families and have the same winemaker. Pepperbridge is considered their flagship label, which focuses more on Bordeaux varietals. Amavi, on the other hand, is inspired by southern French varietals and offers tremendous value.
Our tasting flight included a Semillon-driven blend with Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Merlot, and Bordeaux blend. When we asked our friends about their favorite, they were split between Syrah and Trine (Bordeaux blend).
If you’d like to visit more tasting rooms on Vancouver Waterfront, check out our Brian Carter review. And if just in case you get hungry after the tasting, there is a restaurant nearby.
Please remember to like and share our post with your friends and ask them to check our website for advice on what wines to bring to your party.
