Strawberry goat cheese bites are perfect as an appetizer or a part of a large platter of finger food. The acidity of strawberries combined with the astringent flavors of the goat cheese and herbs makes this appetizer a good pairing for white, rose, and even light red wines.
We created it specifically for the rose wine party but later also tasted it with cremant brut rose such as Alsace rose and the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. They all pair nicely!
The garlic is not a necessary ingredient if you taste delicate wines and want to pay close attention to the flavors. You can omit it and still make an excellent appetizer.
If you don’t have a balsamic vinegar glaze, try using a little bit of Modena balsamic vinegar instead.
Keto-Friendly
When we analyzed the numbers, we found this recipe Keto-friendly. Carbs are there for the flavors, yet you still get enough protein, which makes it a good wine pairing appetizer.

If you avoid fruits in your diet, try substituting strawberries with cucumbers.
Pairing Strawberry Goat Cheese Bites with Wine
We prefer these goat cheese bites with dry sparkling wines and champagne. However, the first time we made them to pair with rose wines. Strawberries seemed to pair very well with Pinot Noir rose, as well as rose made with Grenache, or rose blends such as Grenache, Cinsaut, and Mourvedre.
