Luc Belair Rare Rosé left an unforgettable impression during one of our champagne and sparkling wine club tasting events. Everyone loved this wine for its festive color, aromas, and flavors.

Luc Belair Rare Rosé

Provence, France

The Winery

Belair Rosé comes from the Luc Belaire winery established in 1898, and now 120 years later it is still a family owned, an independent brand run by the sixth generation winemakers.

Belaire wines handcrafted in southeastern France's Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The region stretch 150 miles from the French Riviera to the Rhone River valley along the Mediterranean coast. No wonder that we sensed holiday and summer beach vacation in the bottle.

The Region

As you know, Provence’s unquestioned specialty is rosé wines, and it shines in its sparkling form in Belair Rosé. True to the regional winemaking tradition, this rosé is a blend. Three grapes contribute its personality to make it complete. The Southern France starling Grenache gives body, warmth, and black fruit character. Zesty cousin Cinsault balances it with red blossom notes, finesse, and texture. Big brother Syrah contributes color and gives roundness and a toasty richness to the wine.

Tasting Notes

The festive deep raspberry color with tiny bubbles amplifying visual effect was an instant hit with our guests. Ladies couldn't take their eyes off it while talking about the outfits of the same color.

The aromas were as vibrant as the colors. Ripe red apple, strawberry, and touch of black currant made a lasting impression. Many were quite surprised and intrigued by it not expecting such an enticing complexity.

The flavors were like a crescendo, and it was a love from the first sip. Belair Rosé felt like a perfect marriage of what we love about Champagne and what we love about Provence Rosé: an elegant effervescence with a creamy mousse and ripe berries taste with savory notes. Strawberry, red apple and black currant made a perfect love triangle.

Pairings

Luc Belair Rare Rosé is an excellent sparkling for most occasions. It's immensely enjoyable or can be paired with almost everything except for full-flavored red meat and spicy curries. You can start dinner with it and finish with fruity dessert.

It was one of the highlights of our holiday sparkling tasting event!  (read the full sparkling story).
