We love Wine Swinging in the wine country. Lucky for us, we live on the border of Oregon and Washington and close to Walla Walla Valley, and Willamette Valley - the two most exciting wine regions in the United States. Yes, we are partial, and the trip to Walla Walla Valley confirmed that we have every right to be.
As we headed for the 2019 Walla Walla Spring Release, we set a goal to visit as many wineries as possible and taste as many newly released wines as we can to share our notes with you. We had a couple of fun-filled days with a grand finale right at the end of our trip.
Part of our plan was to visit Watermill Winery and speak with Alex Hedges, who we met at Pour Oregon two weeks earlier.
Lucky for us, aren't we a lucky couple, Alex was there. As we started tasting and talking about Watermill wine, Alex said if we got the time, he would love to give us a tour of their vineyards. Can you imagine it in Napa? We glad that we had some time because we were in for the treat.
Thanks to Alex, we had a chance to have a closer look at what makes Walla Walla such a unique wine region. Also why Seven Hills area and the region's jewel The Rocks District are the premier growing sites. Alex took us on a tour of Watermill vineyards, poured us the wines from respective sites.
That was what we call a quintessential Wine Swinging experience: connecting wine tasting with terroir and people responsible for the magic. Just imagine yourself with a glass of wine standing next to the grapevine it came from? Still wanna go to California?
