Canvasback Winery is one of the newcomers in Walla Walla Valley of Washington. They released the first wine in 2012.
Does Duckhorn, Paradox, Goldeneye, Migration, Decoy, or Caldera wine labels sound familiar to you?
Welcome to the family of wines founded over 40 years ago by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn.
Canvasback is their newest member and the only one outside of California. It was founded with the same goal as Duckhorn back in the 1980s – create complex and captivating small lots of wine combining estate and top growers fruit from the Red Mountain area and other premier sites.
We agree after tasting Canvasback wines that the winery delivers on its promise to create powerful yet complex wines that can challenge both Washington and California’s best Cabs and even top-tiered French Syrahs from the Rhône.
