Les Pertuisots Etienne Sauzet 2015 Beaune Premier Cru

Les Pertuisots Etienne Sauzet 2015 Beaune Premier Cru

The weather in 2015 was almost perfect for most Burgundian white wines and Burgundy needed it after five horrible years in the row.

The white wines of Puligny-Montrachet are probably the most famous and most widely acclaimed in the world.

This wine comes from Domaine of Etienne Sauzet located in the heart of the premier crus vineyards of this famed village.

2015 Les Pertuisots by Gérard Boudot, the current owner, and winemaker is one of the sought-after wines from this area. And now we know why after tasting it.

Les Pertuisots Etienne Sauzet 2015 Tasting Notes

The color is of the pale lemon. The complex nose has a lot to say with light minerality, floral notes, apple, a hint of peach and touch of vanillin oak. Warm vintage helped to create a full-bodied wine with a silky texture and ample fruit. The palate follows the nose with peach, ripe apple, apple blossom, minerality, and enough acid to balance the sugars of ripe fruit.

The finish is long and lingering. While some wine critics may say that it doesn’t have a typical level of acidity for 1er Crus, we are ready to drink this wine any day of the week and would love to adopt a couple of cases of it.
