Pumpkin Recipes for Autumn Wine Parties

Pumpkin Recipes Collection

There are thousands of pumpkin recipes, but wine lovers always look for something unique. Pairing them with wine is vital for wineswinging experiments and celebrations.

Pumpkin Soup

We would make it the same way we prepare Squash Soup with one minor change…

We need to change something every time we make it.

Here are several ideas for you:

  • Spices. You’ve heard of pairing pumpkin with warming fall spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg, but save those for pumpkin bread. We like to amp up the savory flavors and add a bit of heat, which is why in this recipe, you’ll find earthy, smoky cumin, freshly ground black pepper, cayenne pepper, and spicy ground ginger.
  • Fresh herbs. A fresh herb brings homemade soups to life and sets them apart from anything you buy at the store. We grow some Mediterranean herbs in our garden. One of them is so easy to use in soup recipes – fresh thyme. It requires the least preparation — just strip the leaves from the stems and throw them into the soup.
  • Maple syrup. A drizzle of maple syrup gives this soup the perfect sweet, savory balance and comforting caramel-y flavor.

Since we visited Frankonia recently, we’ve been trying German recipes to pair with Rieslings and Silvaners. Angela’s Kürbissuppe (which means pumpkin soup) includes celery root and leek, which, in our opinion, enhance the flavors of vegetable soups.

Creamy Pumpkin Tortellini

Cheese tortellini is tossed in a nutty brown butter pumpkin vodka sauce that’s creamy and delicious! The pumpkin adds vibrant flavor and richness to this silky smooth, creamy tortellini.

Pumpkin Gnocchi

This pumpkin recipe adds an autumnal twist to classic gnocchi: use pumpkin instead of most of the potato. We would use real butter instead of vegan butter, but you don’t have to.

Fritters

Every bite of the crispy, hot-off-the-frying-pot pumpkin fritters is mildly sweet, soft, cheesy, and mouthwatering. The best thing is that it is easy to make and takes about 20 minutes.

We would serve them with sparkling rosé such as Berlucchi 61 Franciacorta Rose

Dinner Rolls

These pumpkin rolls are the perfect fall bake. They are light and fluffy, coated with a slightly sweet honey butter glaze, and flavored with just the right amount of rosemary and sea salt.

Chorizo Pumpkin Hand Pies

The author of this recipe recommends pairing them with a glass of Pinot Noir. Its buttery pastry, sweet pumpkin, and caramelized onion pair perfectly with Pinot Noir’s silkiness and acidity.

Pumpkin Spice Cake

This pumpkin cake is both comforting and delicious. It’s packed with spices and covered in a perfect pumpkin spice glaze. Whether you have it for breakfast, as a snack, or warmed up, it’s pure bliss. Having a slice with your morning coffee is perfect, but you can enjoy it any time of day!

We are sure that this collection of recipes is far from complete. Do you have a favorite recipe? Let us know!
