Northwest Sunrise Cocktail Recipe

Northwest Sunrise Cocktail

We created Northwest Sunrise cocktail for Amaretto lovers and those who prefer sweeter cocktails to boozy drinks.

Northwest Sunrize color reminds us of a windy winter morning sky in the Pacific Northwest, where we reside. And its flavor, thanks to Cappelletti liqueur, makes us think of sweet Washington cherries.

Cappelletti Vino Apperetivo

Cappelletti is a wine-based Italian red bitter aperitif that has been produced by the Cappelletti family for four generations. The flavor is like a blend of Aperol and Campari: sweet and herbal with a bitter finish. Yet we think of it as a more complex approach to red bitter liqueurs.

The liqueur producer, Antica Erboristeria Cappelletti, was established in 1909. It sells other liquors like vermouth, amari, grappa, and more. So Cappelletti is the brand, and the specific product name is Cappelletti Vino Apperetivo.

Cappelletti is made with wine instead of a neutral spirit like other similar liqueurs, giving the flavor a unique roundness.

If you try to replace it with Campari, you will get a bitter flavor profile. We experimented with Campari and might publish another version of this drink soon.
